Print of the Month

Nothing makes Axel as happy as knowing others have one of his prints. About every month, Axel makes available a print at a special price. Prints are archivally processed, handled, and mounted to acid free board with hinged linen tape, and matted with acid free paper, and hand signed in pencil by Axel with information about the image, and a certificate of authenticity.

This month’s print is “Singularity, Late Afternoon on Lake Malheur, Oregon. 2008

this print is a Giclee print, 11x11”, and available for a limited time for just $400. Order will be taken and filled in about 30 days in a single production run. This edition is limited to just 20 prints.

From Axel: “Singularity is one of my favorite images because I was so connected with the scene. Especially the tree. I still remember the warm sun on my face and the lapping of the water against the rocks on the shore. I set up my Hasselblad EL/M camera with an 80mm lens and exposed Fuji Acros. Unlike many shots with fleeting light and clouds, there was nothing going on. It was peaceful and un hurried. It was one of the most perfect experiences I’ve ever had as a photographer. I couldn’t wait to get back to my darkroom to develop the film, and used my typical stand development techniques to pull a little more tonal range out of the image.”
